Today I am going to write on an emotional aspect which has created heart touching feelings not only in Bangladesh, but also in the whole world. That is the ‘procession of human death’ which started with the death of a Chinese whistle blowing doctor.
This fact I mentioned in brief in one of my previous write up. Since the start, the corona took the lives of 171334 in the world including 110 in Bangladesh as on April 21.
The question is, why doctors could not stop this procession. The answer is very easy - there was no curative ways of getting rid of it. Only the way the doctors advised were to keeping away one meter apart from the adjacent person, wearing mask and frequently washing hands at every hour.
The country which followed this suggestions strictly could save more of their people’s lives, but even not a single country but Vietnam could avoid to stop its people going to the procession of human death due to corona. Some countries witnessed loss in its thousands of people even in a single day.
In this procession, not only the patients, but also doctors, nurses, health workers extended the length of the queue of the dead people. Among the most severely affected countries China, USA, UK, France, Spain, Iran and also the Netherlands are at the first order.
As the attack of corona was at all of a sudden, no countries had well preparations and even could not cope with the supplying of the life protecting health aids on time in enough amount as per the demand of the intensity. Even the hospitals were not well prepared to get the corona patients admitted - as the protocol for providing the service for the corona patients was not as easy as for other diseases.
When corona initiated its cruel acts in China, we had to know that general hospitals were not fit to get the corona patients; and so Chinese government established an specialized hospitals in 10 days which was solely used for the corona patients. The doctors, nurses and other health assistants were given training for the service. In the mass media, we witnessed the doctors, nurses and other health assistants had to attend the patients tirelessly as the number of patients were more in proportion to the number of doctors and other supporting persons.
Such situation happened afterwards in other countries as well where corona had established its rule. Up to this day of 21st April, the most severely affected countries are USA, Italy, France, Spain, UK, Belgium, Iran, Germany, China and Netherlands. In the USA the recorded death exceeded over 42 thousand.
The situation is so painful that some countries did not have boxes to bury the death bodies, some countries had to use the play ground or park to bury the dead corona victims. In the television and other mass media, we saw so many pictures of the dead doctors, dead nurses, distressed doctors, distressed nurses, exhausted doctors, exhausted nurses, sleepless doctors and sleepless nurses.
The situation was devastating that starting from China it stretched its hands to Iran, USA, UK, France, Spain and Italy. Not only the death, but also panic has also caused a lot of sufferings to the world people. This 'panic' seized not only the doctors and nurses, but also the common people along with the political leaders. In Italy, one nurse and in Germany one minister committed suicide having been being caught by corona 'fear' beyond their tolerance levels. There were some posts of the doctors and nurses showing the injured faces due to wearing masks for a longer time.
In Bangladesh, we lost one of our physicians and also after two days we lost another. We do not know who is the next in the queue. What we can do, but to pray to Allah (SWT) to save all of us. Nobody of us know who is going to stay, who is to leave - only Allah will decide the matter solely.
On 14th instant, we were shocked with the death of Dr. Moyeen Uddin, Assistant Professor of the MAG Osmani Medical College, Sylhet. Our Prime Minister and Health Minister condoled the death and declared taking the responsibility of the family members of the deceased. We were again shocked with the news of another doctor’s death of Mymensingh.
The whole nation mourned expressing deep condolences over the deaths of the doctors who had a battle against corona. We also sadly console from the core of our hearts and pray to Allah (SWT) to give them 'Jannat' along with giving enough patience to their mournful family members. What else we could do for them!!!
One of my Facebook friend posted the picture of his doctor daughter wearing PPE and saying ‘Pray for my daughter, she is going to serve corona patients’. Well, we do not desire to hear any more news like Dr. Moyeen and pray to the Almighty to save our remaining doctors and nurses.
Oh Allah, save our peoples, We are asking pardon to you for the sins we committed so far willingly or being forgotten. Doctors and nurses are our front line fighters who have been fighting against the deadly corona.
In the mean time, some of the doctors served corona patients in the hospitals for some days. After finishing their duties they had corona tests and were found to be ‘corona negative’. Congratulations for those ‘Corona Warriors'.
